What is Formula Ford “The Series”?
Mission Statement
"To
provide the highest quality Formula Ford racing,
not seen since the glory days of the 70’s & 80’s,
within a relaxed, problem free, atmosphere of Vintage Racing."
Formula Ford “The Series” was born in October 2006 for the sole purpose of
bringing together Formula Ford owners of all generations of cars with the
intention of increasing the FF grids at each scheduled event.
VARA, HSR-West & California Sports Cars Club had declining Formula
Ford entries. Initially 11 – 12
drivers agreed to support “The Series” dedicating themselves to attending a
schedule of five events, ten races annually.
By the end of the 2007 Formula Ford “The Series” had
grown to 30 dues paying members. Our
membership has steadily grown with drivers who come from Virginia, Washington,
Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona & California.
Our first event in February 2007 drew a surprising 23 entries.
The average entry over a five-event
schedule in 2007 was 22.5 Formula Fords, exceeding our greatest expectations for
our first year.
Formula Ford “The Series” is
not just Formula Ford racing, it is a Formula Ford gathering that must be
experienced. Our driver members
have more fun with not only the best Formula Ford racing in Southern California
and Arizona, but every event our drivers win valuable awards by random draws.
At each event “The Series” supporters and sponsors give away
thousands of dollars in valuable parts and services that every driver can use.
Simply stated: “The Series” provides the most camaraderie, the largest
fields, the most track time (practice, qualify, race on Saturday and again on
Sunday), the best venues in So. Cal. and Arizona, the most competitive racing
throughout the Formula Ford ONLY field (battles for every position), the best
prizes, professional run tech inspection…you just can’t improve on our
politically free environment!
Formula Ford “The Series” has revitalized Formula Ford racing in the
Southwest. Formula Ford has a
revered long history. As a Formula Ford enthusiast you too can be a part of this
rejuvenated class of auto racing. You
